Gulf oil producers are still haggling over the value of the proposed common currency that will form the pillar of their planned monetary union despite progress in other requirements, according to an official document.
While they have initially agreed on a proper peg for the new single currency, the six Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) states have yet to iron out differences on the value of that currency against other major currencies, the GCC document said.
